Griffith Foods develops and produces food ingredients and selected Deerns to transform a 7,000 m 2 industrial building and surrounding site in Valls into a suitable facility for their new production lines for solids and liquids. The project also includes the development of storage areas, offices and laboratories. In line with Griffith’s sustainability charter, the design fully complies with a LEED Silver qualification.
In this new facility, Griffith Foods produces about 3,000 tons of liquids (hot and cold sauces) and 3,000 tons of dry blending products (seasoning powders) in the first year. Taking into account Griffith’s business planning to double the production capacity in the next four years, the new production facility is already designed to meet all requirements for this future expansion.
Besides supporting Griffith in their programming of this project, Deerns’ services comprise concept and detailed MEP design, architecture and structural design, including project and site management. All design is produced in 3D using REVIT. Preventing cross contamination and ensuring hygienic conditions are crucial to the site’s operations, therefore the design and logistics are carefully aligned with the process flows.
